Life is a series highs and lows. During the course of the roller coaster, we can get wounded emotional, mentally, physically or even spiritually. Some are deep wounds that seem like they may never go away. Some go away and a new situation or event causes the wound to open again.
I believe that having a mind-set of recovery and renewal is the key to healing. In times when everything seems to want to move so quickly, we need time to recover and heal. To do this, we must mediate and pray about the things that continue to break open wounds and cause us to scar again. If we never confront the demons that attack our emotions, mind or spirit, we may never recuperate from the wound. If that is true, we might not ever fully heal.
Forgiveness is a way to start the healing. Whether you are forgiving others or forgiving yourself, it has to be said aloud so your spirit can hear it. Give life to what you are feeling by saying it or declaring it to yourself and to God. Forgiving doesn't always mean forgetting, but starts the process of releasing you from the burden of guilt, shame or condemnation. The flesh seeks to condemn and bring to remembrance all the mistakes made. The promise of Romans 8: 1-2 say we are already set free. So, why not agree with and declare the promise to so and say AMEN (so be it!). Live today and every day going forward in and with the Spirit that Jesus sent to us who comforts, heals, restores and rewards with peace.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
