Life is full of changes. How flexible we are during the period of change depends on us (personality, patience and endurance). Some change takes longer that others. Let's not forget the period of trials, tests and tribulations. They are also period of refining, pruning and change that can be a tool of our Lord to help us grow in Christ.
While most of us would like to have stability, routine and a level of comfort that makes us "feel" good. Often times the way to the desires of our heart are often through the worst situations or circumstances we are currently facing. It is hard to see the light when darkness is all around you.
I just changed jobs and that was a prayer of mine the last few months, because my position and location changed. I didn't feel comfortable or spiritually settled in any way. While there was a job to be done, both spiritually and professionally, it still didn't feel right. My prayers were for contentment and God's will, plan and purpose for me. I needed peace of mind to be able to withstand my current conditions and to see what God was trying to show me; since He allowed me to be positioned somewhere else physically and professionally. So, I feel freedom, but am also faced with new challenges.
I have found that going from "glory to glory" with God is the key and praying the scriptures are the keys to the Kingdom. How blessed to know that ! So many walk around blind --not physically -- spiritually. To be able to understand the call on your life and accept the assignments that God gives us is indeed a blessing. Although we do not want to recognize blessings that started out as a struggles, we need to have a Kingdom mindset when thinking of them. We really do have to go through it to get to it. The "it" is blessing and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.
Hymn 296
FROM GLORY TO GLORY
From glory to glory He's changing me,
Changing me, changing me;
His likeness and image to perfect in me,
The love of God shown to the world.
For He's changing, changing me,
From earthly things to the heavenly,
His likeness and image to perfect in me,
The love of God shown to the world.
