On Earth As It Is In Heaven

Most of us say the Lord's prayer every day and probably never meditate on the words. To pray for God's will to done on earth as it is in heaven is quite a request. God's will is His Word and The Bible contains powerful promises that are waiting to be tapped into; so that the power of God can be released in our lives. In order to understand the ending, you must also know the beginning. From Genesis to Revelation, the books of the Bible contains promises, blessings, commands, proverbs and prophecies that are mysteries stored up and waiting for us to mine like gold in search of gems like wisdom and revelation to know the will of God.

Heaven is referred to as the Lord's holy, glorious home or His lofty throne, holy and glorious (Isaiah 63:15 NIV/NLT).  Just the description alone peaks my interest and should entice someone to long for such a place. According to 2 Peter 3:13 (NIV), we are promised and should be looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells.  If none of us are righteous (Romans3:10), how can we long for such a thing? The answer is in The Blood. The sacrifice of Jesus and the blood He shed on the cross was the price He paid for the sins of all mankind. Hebrews 9:22 (NIV) says, "In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. Righteousness by definition is morally right or in right standing with God. We are the righteous of God through Jesus Christ only.

The Apostle John wrote this about heaven.. "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ⁴ ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
⁵ He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:3-5 (NIV). 

To know the promises of God is a gift to us unto salvation. To believe the promises is life everlasting and divine revelation from the Holy Spirit. God's righteousness and justice should not only be searched for throughout the treasure trove of his Holy Book - The Bible;  but we should chase after Him daily praying for His kingdom to come on earth and in our lives, as it in in Heaven.

Almighty God, thank you that by Your Holy Spirit we are able to receive divine wisdom and revelation. Grant us understanding of what is the breadth and length and height and depth of Christ's love for us. Give me a fresh revelation of Jesus and what took place on the cross so that  I not only seek You, but chase after You. In the chase, let Your goodness and mercy follow me all the day of my life. I give thanks and praise through Jesus Christ, Amen!




  

False Prophets

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many." (Matthew 24:11)

In the apostolic period, two main gifts of the Spirit were those of the apostle and prophet. In fact, the church itself was "built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets" (Ephesians 2:20). One function of these men was to receive and transmit God's revelation to His people--first verbally, then eventually written in permanent form in the New Testament. "Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit" (Ephesians 3:5).

The apostle Paul revealed also that such prophecies would cease once they were no longer needed. "When that which is perfect |or 'complete'| is come, then that which is in part shall be done away" (1 Corinthians 13:9-10). Clearly in the context, this refers to the complete revelation of God. When the last book of the Bible was transmitted to the church by the last living apostle, the Lord warned us neither to "add unto" nor to "take away from the words of the book of this prophecy" (Revelation 22:18-19).

But many false prophets have indeed "gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1), just as Jesus warned, and they have "deceived many." One of them, a self-asserted seventh century "prophet" from Arabia, received certain "revelations" from a "god" that were vastly different from those of the God of the Bible, and his followers now number over a billion.

There have been others, before and since, and the Lord Jesus warned us always to "beware of false prophets" (Matthew 7:15). The basic criterion by which to test any alleged prophecy, ancient or modern, is whether or not it fully conforms to the written Word of God, the Bible. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" (Isaiah 8:20). HMM

Pray that the Father will give you the gift to discern that which is from darkness and the true light of God. We live in a very deceptive time and our ability to wait and listen to the Father, along with testing the spirits is essential to our livelihood and peace. I am taken back to our one true prayer and remember to ask for my daily bread (Word from God).

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever.
