The bible tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of thing not seen (Hebrews 11:1). When I think of faith, I also think of trust. When I think of trust, I am always drawn back to people. My faith and trust in individuals has always been low. Human perspectives and realities (opinions) all differ from one to the next. So, I guess I am typically not very trusting of others.
I was raised to know that a man's (or woman's) word is all you have and that the hand shake seals the deal. So, I guess there had to be some faith in that teaching, but I never thought about it that way. Deception comes in a lot of ways. I always set out to do unto others as I would have them do unto me, but that is not always the case with the people we come in contact with daily. So, trust is one of those things I am working on daily.
I find that most people have their own agendas. That’s okay. My agenda is to be trustworthy, kind, honest and dependable. If I say I am going to do it or be there, I will. If something comes up, I will let you know. That is something I want to instill in my children. No matter what, always try to keep your word. And, on all occasions, always try to remember forgiveness and that what we see or hear is not always the way the person meant it. Remember the offenses lesson... slow to be offended or to question the integrity of others; because you don't know where they are coming from in the conversation.
In the age of technology, I have declared that email is the worst way to communicate. The impressions and tone of your voice does not come through clearly and the rest is left up to interpretation. I recently spoke to someone I have not spoken to in a while. It was refreshing. I mentioned my blog and sent the link. I read her email in response to my blog and immediately took offense, because what I thought I read was -- "I don't see your name on it. So, how do I know you really wrote it"? I am not sure what she meant, but I hope it wasn't to questions the authenticity of my blog. I love quotes, scriptures and insights of others, but I also love to share what the Spirit urges me to write also.
This blog is for those willing to trust and share comments. I opened myself up to this for a reason…... because I was lead to do it. I am a recreation. I am full of opinions. I am someone trying to learn more about my calling in life and the people that I am divinely connected to in the most sincere way.
