Spring has Sprung

Each year I have grown fonder of the seasons changing. Most of that is probably because I actually live where I can enjoy four seasons. I love winter now -- mostly because I am a turtleneck freak. Now that spring is here, I have found myself taken back to my youth when the March winds blew and the smell of honeysuckle was in the air. My mind has even drifted back to long summer days in the country just wondering up and down dirt roads in Alabama or riding horses. The subtle reflections help to enjoy the days with my children more and more.

Church was not an option when I was young. We were there rain or shine, even if the adults didn't go. The old hymns are always coming to mind (now) when I read the Bible. I remember 'Your Word is a Lamp unto my Feet". In a recent study by one of my favorite pastors, his study on the Word being a lamp unto our feet sent me into a tailspin. If the Lamp is God, the Light is Christ and the Oil is the Holy Spirit, why am I just getting it? Why is my light just coming on?

Divine revelation, wisdom and enlightenment have been my prayers recently, along with my prayer of how to be the head, hands, eyes of Christ to help those in need. With so many disasters, economic worries and fears lurking around every corner, I find myself asking God to help me all day, everyday to understand my call in life, work and family right now. I need each day to be lived out so that all I do glorifies Him. Thank you Lord for each new day that allows for new beginnings!

Prayer:

You have given us eyes, O Lord, and we see so little. Enlighten the eyes of our heart, so that we may see the beauty and wonder of life and faith. In Jesus' Name we pray, Amen.
