Coming in and Going out

In the wake of the tragedy of Haiti, I have found myself wondering if my issues are real today. While Haiti is in the midst of devastation, my prayer is that they will seek the face of God and understand He is the way, truth and the light. My prayer has been for them to call upon the name of the Lord and know that He is God and that He heals, restores and redeems.

So many of us work daily and are tired; especially if you are working and have children. I call it the great balancing act and know that I have to maintain focus in order to be a good servant of the Lord, employee, wife, mother and any other title that is bestowed upon me during the course of a normal day.

Solomon's prayer in 1 King 3:7 says, And now, O Lord my God, Thou hast made Thy servant king in place of my father David, yet I am but a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in. Mark 6:31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. Go out and come in is throughout the bible (1 Samuel 18: 13-16, Numbers 27:17, 2 Chronicles 1:10).

I have heard teachings on this and believe that coming in is into the presence of God through worship and going out is after the refreshing of worship -- going out with the presence of God to witness war against the demons lurking around. In balancing, I am trying to be cognizant of coming in daily to worship and going out equipped and anointed to continue searching for what God has called me to do.

This week, think of coming in and going out.

Dear Heavenly Father, teach us to come in and go out daily. Give us a double portion of your anointing so that we are equipped to do what you have called us to do - worship and war for the sake of the Gospel. Give us an understanding heart and teach us to recognize the moving of the Spirit in our lives so that we may walk in wisdom always. In Jesus' Name, AMEN.
