My Soul Waits

Lately, it seems as if everyone I talk to and everywhere I go there is some kind of turmoil.  There is hopelessness, fear, anxiety and doubt in the speech and minds of people I felt were solid as a rock in their faith.  That tells me that the great serpent of old is working hard to tear down and destroy the people of God. It is is amazing how we can go from being on top of the world to the deepest valley in no time at all - the difference a day can make.

"Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, just as we hope in You" (Psalm 33:20-22).
To wait  is agony. To wait means we must trust and believe in what we can't see or the voice that is inside of us. When our mind tells us to do, act and go; our spirit will say wait on the Lord. We inevitably think if we do something we are at least not sitting around hopelessly waiting and allowing something bad to happen.

"Do not say, 'I will recompense evil'; wait for the Lord, and He will save you" (Proverbs 20:22).
"Wait on the Lord, and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you shall see it" (Psalm 37:34).

When the attacks of life drive us to the point of revenge, it is hard to be reminded of the Lords promise that vengeance is His.  Why should he have all the fun? Why shouldn't we get the satisfaction of doing something to control the happenings after we have been attacked.

In this season and time, the enemy is bold in his attacks and we must be strong in the Lord to keep His commandments.  When everything inside of us wants to drive us mad or make us fight, we must wait on the Lord and seek His wisdom and revelation in order to be victorious.

"He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint" (Isaiah 40:29-31).
